Eligibility Criteria for Housewives, Widows, and Divorcees Under the Griha Aadhar Scheme

  1. The applicant shall be a married women.
  2. The applicant shall be at least 18 years of age.
  3. The applicant shall be a resident of Goa for the past 15 years.
  4. The gross income of both husband and wife should not exceed Rs. 3,00,000 per annum.
  5. A widow with a minor child who receives benefits from the Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS) rolled out by the Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Goa, shall be eligible for benefits under this scheme till the child attains 18 years of age.

Note the following Exclusions:

  1. The married woman or her husband shall not be receiving benefits from the Dayanand Social security Scheme (DSSS) introduced  by the Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Goa

  3. Scheduled Banks, excluding Cooperative Banks (subject to actual income in the case of Cooperative Banks).

Required Documents

Documents Needed for Griha Aadhar Scheme Application

  1. Birth certificate of the child, along with a life certificate (for widows who are beneficiaries of the DSSS).
  2. Marriage certificate issued by the appropriate authority.
  3. Aadhar Card
  4. Proof of Present Residential Address: It can include an Election Photo Identity Card /Ration card or even driving license or any other document that verifies the current address of the applicant.
  5. Residence Certificate (if the applicant is a native of Goa): Residence proof is required confirming 15 years of residency in Goa issued by the Mamlatdar of the relevant Taluka.
  6. Residence Certificate (if the applicant is a native from outside Goa): A residence certificate is required confirming 15 years of residency from the husband, along with the applicant’s birth certificate. This applies provided the husband is of Goan origin and the couple has been settled in Goa for at least one year.
  7. Income Certificate: An income certificate issued by a competent authority, such as the Secretary of the Village Panchayat or the Chief Officer of the Municipal Council.
  8. Self-Declaration: A self-declaration in the prescribed format, which shall be duly certified and attested by a Gazetted Officer of the State Government, stating that the annual income from all sources does not exceed ₹3,00,000. The declaration must also confirm that neither the applicant nor her husband is employed on a regular basis by any of the specified entities.

Self-Attested Copy of Savings Bank Account Passbook: savings bank account passbook shall be self -attested, including IFSC and MICR details. The account should preferably be linked to Aadhaar for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) purposes.

A marriage certificate is a mandatory document which shall be produced by beneficiaries who marry on or after the date this scheme comes into effect. In such instances, an alternative document will not be accepted by any means, and no exceptions will be made. Such cases will not be referred to the Committee, and the application will be automatically rejected.

For submitting life certificates for beneficiaries and their children what are the requirements?

The requirements mention that the beneficiaries must submit a life certificate in October every year using the prescribed form (Annexure-B). Besides, for widows who are beneficiaries of the DSSS and have a child, an extra life certificate for that child must also be submitted annually.”

Beneficiaries must submit a fresh Income Certificate every three years if their gross annual income is less than Rs. 2,50,000. If their income exceeds Rs. 2,50,000, they need to submit a new Income Certificate every year in October. In case, any of the beneficiary, misses to provide the required Income Certificate, their monthly financial assistance will be stopped with immediate effect. Once the Income Certificate is received, and if all other conditions are fulfilled correctly, the financial assistance will resume from the coming month.

If the beneficiary provides false information to get benefits from the scheme what happens?

It has been very clearly mentioned in the form that If any beneficiary uses wrong or false information to receive benefits from this scheme, then they may face legal action. Besides that the person will be banned from receiving benefits from any other government schemes in the near future.
