How Women and Senior Citizens Can Benefit from These Schemes

 

Sanjeevani Yojana and Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana: Former Chief Minister of Delhi and National Convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, Arvind Kejriwal, has stated that two significant welfare programs, Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana, would start their respective registration processes on December 24, 2024. These programs will be launched for the ladies of the national capital along with the healthcare facilities for the elderly citizens.

Two Schemes for Women and the Elderly to Start Registration

Kejriwal released information about the schemes at a press conference:

Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana:

This scheme provides ₹2,100 per month to women in Delhi. It is expected to empower women and will provide them with regular sources of income.

Sanjeevani Yojana:

This scheme would cover the elderly population above 60 years’ medical cost, thus making the private or government hospitals accessible without financial burden on them.

Kejriwal said that schemes like these may benefit a very large number of people—from 35 to 40 lakh women and about 15 lakh senior citizens of Delhi.

 

Sanjeevani Yojana: The main bullet points on the scheme

No queues needed: door-to-door registration

One of the unique features of these schemes is that the enrollment is to be carried out door-to-door. Teams have been specially constituted at all places in Delhi for the eligible residents so that they can enroll. “You need not stand in long queues. Our team will come up to your door step and we shall do registration there and distribute necessary cards for the scheme to your doorstep,” said Kejriwal.

How to Apply for the Schemes

If you are eligible, here’s how you can apply:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You must be a resident of Delhi.
  • You must have a valid Delhi voter ID card to qualify.

Documents Required:

  • Aadhar Card
  • Delhi Voter ID Card
  • Bank Account Details
  • Age Proof (for Sanjeevani Yojana applicants)

Application Procedure:

  • Teams from the government will come to your house to register.
  • You can check your eligibility at the official Delhi government website or confirm whether your voter ID is active.

Dr Ambedkar Scholarship for Dalit Students

Apart from these two schemes, Kejriwal recently announced the Dr Ambedkar Scholarship for Dalit students. The scheme will cover all the expenses of higher education for the Dalit students who get admission in top universities of the world. It also extends to Dalit government employees, who are pursuing higher studies.

A huge step toward welfare

The new announcements by Kejriwal are the new attempts to develop women’s, old people’s, and underprivileged group people’s lives in the state.

Delhi State government is taking a step to create an environment of inclusive care towards its residents by providing economic help, medical care, and other opportunities of education.

Beneficiaries’ residents must get themselves registered with schemes and should derive the benefits offered by the government.
