How Women and Senior Citizens Can Benefit from These Schemes
Sanjeevani Yojana and Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana: Former Chief Minister of Delhi and National Convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, Arvind Kejriwal, has stated that two significant welfare programs, Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana, would start their respective registration processes on December 24, 2024. These programs will be launched for the ladies of the national capital along with the healthcare facilities for the elderly citizens.
Two Schemes for Women and the Elderly to Start Registration
Kejriwal released information about the schemes at a press conference:
Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana:
This scheme provides ₹2,100 per month to women in Delhi. It is expected to empower women and will provide them with regular sources of income.
Sanjeevani Yojana:
This scheme would cover the elderly population above 60 years’ medical cost, thus making the private or government hospitals accessible without financial burden on them.
Kejriwal said that schemes like these may benefit a very large number of people—from 35 to 40 lakh women and about 15 lakh senior citizens of Delhi.

No queues needed: door-to-door registration
One of the unique features of these schemes is that the enrollment is to be carried out door-to-door. Teams have been specially constituted at all places in Delhi for the eligible residents so that they can enroll. “You need not stand in long queues. Our team will come up to your door step and we shall do registration there and distribute necessary cards for the scheme to your doorstep,” said Kejriwal.
